Best of 2000

This time of year, everybody's got a list. Here's mine. I decided to pick exclusively world films rather than making a true top ten of my favorites, partly because it's my topic, and partly because these films don't get enough publicity as it is. If had included American movies, Ghost Dog, You Can Count On Me, State and Main, Traffic, and O Brother would have been likely to make the list--but you already know that those are good, or Indie film guide Marcy Dermansky has been trying to convince you in her top ten list.

I almost made a worst-of-the-year list, but it's usually not as fun to dwell on the disappointments. For my opinion on the most overrated world film of 2000, check out my "Billy Elliot" review.

As always, I'd love to hear what your favorites were. Join me, Chinapilot, Jim, Lunchmunny, and the rest of the gang in the forum and let us know what you liked best.
